After the success of Squid Game's original Netflix series, Hoyeon, a South Korean actress and model, gained international attention. Her breakout performance on the show Hoyeon took home the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Female actor in an Drama Series and also a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Hoyeon, who hails in Myeonmok-dong (a suburb located in Seoul) started her professional career as an independent model at Seoul Fashion Week in 2011. Hoyeon won a place in Korea's Next Top Model season 4. Her international breakthrough came in the year 2016 when she was granted a global exclusive contract by Louis Vuitton. Fendi, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu have been featured by her in campaigns.
